this also took seven years...

here's the quilt i made for devan's birthday this year. i started it seven years ago and only just finished it. it turned out better than i expected -- better than my level of expertise would have suggested -- which level is 0. at any rate, i digress. it felt good to finally finish and to like the final product. working with my hands brings incredible satisfaction like few other things do. probably cause it doesn't come easy for me. and it is a great compromise between me pitching all the old stuff and dev wanting to keep it all for...what? is always my question. this way we keep it and make it useful again. yea! everyone wins. except my finger which has been pricked a few too many times in the last two weeks and is asking for time off from sharp needles!

This is great inspiration - I should do this with all my marathon shirts. Really nice.

that's a great idea kristina! but like mom said, 'it's an act of love' cause it was long and hard really. but you're a bit more crafty than i am so it might not be so difficult for you.
