we took a trip to muir woods last saturday. i've wanted to see the redwoods all my life. they didn't disappoint, that's for sure!this ranger was so funny. he kept bringing out antlers and putting them on the boys. i have many more pictures of this type of thing. the boys thought it was fun the first time. :)
these trees are so awesome! they often split near the bottom and these kind of caves are created. some are tiny and some are big enough for our entire family to sit down in. amazing!
tall doesn't even begin to describe how tall these are...
we ran into this area where there was a ton of ladybugs. i mean, a ton! all over everything. it was crazy!

as a side note: this picture of our family was taken after we did a 2.6 mile hike that was listed as "steep and strenous". our kids are really amazing...of course chas was leading the way and cole was right on his tail almost the entire way. even avery walked 3/4 of the way. we were all so tired when we were done, but we sure got good exercise and saw some beautiful things.
Just look at y'all in your sweatshirts in September - who'da thunk it this time last year?!?!?
