funny moment #1

one of the first days we were here we took the kids to the beach. note to all readers: norcal is not hot in any way after you've been living in arizona for years. but the kids were just so set on swimming in the water they didn't care that it was 65 degrees and windy as all get out. so off they went. about five minutes into the fiesta cole and chas came to us saying they needed to go to the bathroom. of course you do, IT'S FREEZING COLD! so then i have to break the bad news to them...yeah, there's no bathroom at the beach, i say. and then the good news -- to a five and seven year old -- so just go in the water. it's a little beach secret i let my kids in on. they thought it was cool. so they proceeded down to the water and dropped their shorts and began to pee into the bay while the wind whipped that pee right onto the person standing at their left. lucky for cole that avery can only pee in one direction: down her leg. oh, yeah, that's right. i forgot to mention that once ave saw cole and chas drop their pants she tried to move her swimsuit off to the side (so to speak) and pee as well. wow. they were having the time of their lives. of course dev and i (and our friends april and matt) started yelling, "NO! NO! that's not what we meant!" but it was too late. needless to say, after that ordeal was over and everyone felt relieved we educated them to the correct way to pee in the beach -- go in to your waste and then look around like nothing's going down and then do your business. come on, you know you've done it. :) funny moment for sure. i'm still laughing.
