a great find

so last week our classical radio station was doing an "alphabet soup" week where they would play only composers whose last names started with "a" for an hour and then "b" names for an hour and so on all day long for an entire work week. it was amazing. normally i don't listen to the station too much because they play a lot of baroque period music and i'm not a huge fan of that era to be honest. i mean, i like bach just as much as the next person, but the next person usually doesn't listen to much bach, you know? but they were forced to play all sorts of composers and all sorts of classical periods. i absolutely loved it! and the most amazing part was that the kids did too. all of them. i suppose i've hesitated leaving the classical radio station on too much cause i always just assumed that classical music would bore them after a certain point. that was a silly assumption. how did that ever work its way into my brain? in fact, chas had a computer program he used at school last year that incorporated a lot of beethoven and he was able to recognize a few of the songs when they were played on the radio this past week. he loved it. and cole and avery both asked me a few times to turn the station back to the classical music when i'd turn it. so the alphabet week is over and i find we're still listening to the station nearly every time we get in the car. what a terrific find. you can listen to it on the internet also. here's the link: www.
