phew!

tonight after dinner the kids were playing upstairs as i was cleaning up the kitchen. all of a sudden avery yells down the stairs that isaac threw up. i high tail it up the stairs and find him at the top ready to take me to the spot (it was super cute actually...in retrospect). turns out it's a little bit of throw up and about five dimes and pennies. HELLO! FIVE DIMES AND PENNIES! after listening to all versions of the story the basic idea is that he was choking and threw up cause his body was trying to rid itself of the unwanted coinage. and all my other beautiful but naive kids can talk about is how gross it is that he threw up. needless to say we had a very serious discussion about what happens when a baby (or anyone for that matter) chokes and what the potential consequences are. that sobered them up real quick. and then, of course, we spoke about why coins shouldn't be made available to ike at any time, etc. wow. it was scary to say the least. isaac is one of the greatest kids on earth so i'd be super sad if he didn't get to hang around here with us a super long time. i've determined that i can handle about one death per decade...at the most. so NO MORE COINS!!!

here's the super cutie eating ice cream like a big boy.

Yikes Liv! Very scary indeed. It's always amazing to me though that our bodies know just what to do in a situation like that. Hurray for throwing up! :)
