batter up
just looking through the photos i've uploaded so far. this is my favorite photo of my grandfather john demek. i think cause it's a candid picutre of a moment filled with living. i was too young and he was too old to have really known each other well. but i wonder a lot about my granparents and other ancestors. i wonder what food they loved and hated, what books they read, what they thought of current politics in their time. i just find myself looking at these pictures and wonder and wonder. can't wait to talk to him again someday. i wonder what we'll talk about.

what a great picture. I could look at that for hours. It does raise so many questions- how often did their feet ache in shoes like that? It looks like an official game with an umpire and everything but its just played on a dirt lot like a pick-up game. What was the occasion? Apparently, no one worried as much about safety. Look where the spectators are standing! Life was so much more layed back then. I'm so tired of all the rules and anal guidelines today. Anyway, love the picture!!!!!
