Our most recent trip to the Skateboard Park

Here we are at the edge of our island at the skateboard park. On the last warm-ish day of the year we took off to skate, roll, and run around like MANIACS! These are our friends the Millers and some random other church friends that hitched rides. When we descend on the park like this you can just see all the older teenage boys slowly leave as they realize we're brining with us a dozen obstacles they'll have to ride around. We've had a few close calls, some second-hand marajuana smoke, and a few foul words over the year, but all in all I have to give props to those older boys. They are always very nice to the kids and give us plenty of space. Like all of it some days :).

Here's the overall picture of what the park looks like. Those star wars looking thingies in the back are the cranes that unload and load massive cargo ships coming into the Port of Oakland. It's one of my most favorite things to watch.

You might be wondering, "What on earth does she do with Isaac?" Well, I give him a scooter and try to keep him from getting plowed down. Somedays are easier than others. He doesn't actually ride the scooter he just pushes it around fiercly. Watch out! He has no problems running over your toes! Good thing he's cute.

Miss A is a scooter fan too. She's getting more and more brave every time. This time was really fun for her cause she also got to play in the bowl and run around like a mad woman with Myra, her friend. Myra is Cole's age, but loves Avery and needless to say, Avery loves hanging with an older girlfriend. They harass the boys quite nicely together.

Go Avery!
